Bernarda

"Bernarda" is a new one-man theatrical textre written by Pelin Temur from Federico Garcia Lorca's famous play “La Casa De Bernarda Alba”. The director and impressive lighting design of Can Ali Çalışandemir acts as a bridge between Lorca and the audience. The character of Bernarda creates a small model of all the oppressive regimes we know with the authority she established by declaring domestic mourning. You will watch the sexist pressure exerted by "Authority" on female identity with the striking performance of Özge Arslan, who plays 5 different women on the stage. With this performance, Özge Arslan received the "Best Actress" award from the Savaş Dinçel Theater Awards, Üstün Akmen Theater Awards, TEB (International Association of Theater Critics – IATC ) Theater Awards and Direklerarası Audience Awards.

The play is presented to the audience with Fandangos and Flamenco music. The arrangement of the works performed live on stage with the powerful voice of the artist Özge Arslan was made by Music Director Erdem Altınses. The music of the play was awarded the "Stage Music of the Year" award by the Üstün Akmen Theater Awards.
